Facebook Groups

A lot of United Methodists are using Social Media to get connected with others. One of the easiest ways to find and connect with others online is through setting up and promoting groups in Facebook. The links below will help you find UM’s in your district, conference and around the world with similar interests and ideas.

These links go to Facebook groups and Twitter pages relevant to United Methodists. Several are official accounts which are maintained by the Texas Annual Conference or by the general boards, general agencies and other UM entities. These include accounts from the General Board of Global Missions, General Board of Discipleship, United Methodist News Service and UMCOM. Others are unofficial and have been set up by individuals, but may be relevant to your interests.

Many of them are open groups and you can just click on the link to access some of the information. For closed groups (groups that you must request permission to join) you will need a Facebook account to access the page. We recommend that you login to your Facebook account or create one at www.facebook.com to make best use of the links below.

Groups can be created by anyone with a Facebook account. If you have an interest in something, you can search to see if a group already exists at http://www.facebook.com/groups.php?ref=sb
